Mammoth’s Advanced Carpet Cleaning Methods:
Steam cleaning is the most recommended method of carpet cleaning by carpet manufacturers. It does not wear down the carpet fibres, it cleans deeply and leaves no residue behind. When done correctly it will give you an immediate result that doesn’t need post-vacuuming. Our cleaning starts with a thorough vacuuming of the entire area, we vacuum your carpets from two to eight times in really soiled areas, followed by a pre-spray treatment to break up dirt and other residues, followed by a deep scrub + steam. It takes several hours to dry depending on type of fibre, climate, humidity, etc.; hence we promote encapsulation as a preferred method of cleaning carpet and upholstery. We buy the most effective and most available cleaning products in the marketplace and we work in a safe manner concerning occupational health and safety.
Steam cleaning (hot water extraction) is the most recommended method of carpet cleaning by carpet manufacturers. It does not wear down the fibres of the carpet; it cleans deep and leaves no residue behind. When done correctly, it will give you an immediate result that doesn’t need post-vacuuming and for certain urine spills etc. it is the way to go. The major carpet manufacturers recommend a professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months to maintain the appearance and warranties of your carpeting.
We recommend your carpets to be cleaned even twice a year if you have small children, pets or if you suffer from allergies; since most of your dirt is dry dirt, we recommend an upright powerful vacuum cleaner to be used twice per week. Besides the hygiene and health issues related to the need of carpet cleaning, there is also the aesthetic issue, your home is a reflection of your life and how you have chosen to live it. A better presentation of your house and property better represents you. A thorough clean of your carpets, rugs and upholstery adds to the feeling of comfort, the ambiance and/ or the atmosphere in the home. Your better looking half (if you have a spouse/ partner) will be happy for one more day at least and then you’ll feel happier too. You will look forward to coming home to that haven of rest and cleanliness and while relaxing and looking at revived carpets, rugs and your furniture’s fabric it will inspire you enough to invite some guests over and again, if they spill something, you know who to call, don’t you?
When surfactants are present above the CMC critical micelle concentration they can act as emulsifiers that will solubilize a compound normally insoluble in the solution being used. This occurs because the insoluble species can be incorporated into the micelle core, which is itself solubilized in the bulk solution by virtue of the head group’s favorable interactions with the solutions species. The most common example of this phenomenon is detergents, which clean poorly soluble hydrophobic material such as oil, grease or dirt that cannot be cleaned by water alone. Detergents also help clean by lowering the surface tension of water making it easier to remove dirt from the fibers surface.
The emulsifying ability of surfactants is also the basis for emulsion polymerization. I would also like to point out that Surround will stay usable when mixed with water for a week or more. Some encaps when mixed with water will go sour or rancid after just a couple days making the mixed solution unusable thus wasting money. It not only has a great cleaning strength and smells good, there is no coughing when using this product. It may be wise for you to stay clear of companies that can’t explain encapsulation or that do not relate their sales info to carpet cleaning.
